The
Ontario Maharashtra Goa Programme (OMG) students' exchange
programme is a highly successful collaboration that
has been developed between Jai Hind College and a Consortium
of 17 universities of the Ontario Province of Canada.
An MOU was signed between the Coordinator of the OMG
Programme and Dr. Kirti Narain, Principal, Jai Hind
College, Mumbai in 2008. A non-degree programme, open
to all faculties, it offers a total fee waiver in the
host university for the visiting students. Students
who go on this exchange programme to study in the universities
in Ontario are also offered a scholarship ranging from
Can$ 2000 to Can$ 2,500, depending on their period of
study in Canada, which can be for one year or one term.
.
In
2008, nine Jai Hind students availed of this opportunity
and had a very laudatory feedback to give of their experience
there. In 2009, nine more students left for Canada and
are happy and content with their courses and varied
opportunities offered. In 2010, an unprecedented number
of students applied for the programme, out of which
10 students have been short listed by the college, the
applications are being processed and will be dispatched
to Canada soon.
