Department of Hindi (BA)

About the
department

The Hindi department at Jai Hind College boasts a rich history, dating back to its inception in 1948. The department is renowned for its vibrant academic environment, regularly hosting seminars, workshops, literary festivals, and guest lectures from esteemed universities. These events provide students with invaluable exposure and learning opportunities. Our alumni have achieved remarkable success, pursuing further studies at prestigious global institutions and excelling in diverse fields such as media, academia, and the arts. Until 2022, Hindi was offered in the first year of the BA program. However, with the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP), the curriculum has been restructured. Hindi is now offered in the second year for students across Science, Commerce, and Arts streams. This change aligns with the NEP’s goal of providing a more flexible and interdisciplinary approach to education. Our program’s balanced approach ensures that students are well-prepared for a variety of career opportunities and real-world challenges. By integrating traditional and contemporary aspects of Hindi literature and culture, we equip our students with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in their chosen fields. The department’s commitment to academic excellence and cultural enrichment continues to make it a cornerstone of Jai Hind College.
