Department of Science

The Science Section of Junior College was established in 1977. Std XI has 600 students as does std XII. Thus, the total strength is 1200. A total of 32 teachers are involved in the teaching of the science subjects. The Science subjects taught are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Electronics and Computer science. In addition, there is additional faculty to teach languages such as English, Hindi, French, Marathi and Sindhi. As per requirement of the board there are teachers for the subjects of Environmental studies and for Physical education.

A student is admitted in std XI through the centralized admission process and is required to study 8 subjects which include:

1. English
2. Any one language from amongst Hindi, Marathi, Sindhi, French
3. Physics
4. Chemistry
5. Mathematics
6. Biology OR Electronics OR Computer Science.
7. Environmental studies
8. Physical education.

The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single small step. The junior section of Jaihind College is that single small step. The base provided at this stage is the foundation on which a student’s entire career and thus his/her life is determined. Jaihind college strives to ensure a solid base due to which a student can then soar high and reach great heights and fulfill their dreams.

Teachers of the junior section of Jaihind college ensure that the information they provide during lectures is above and beyond what’s printed in the textbook. This helps the student perform well in the board exam as well as the entrance exams.

The hands-on training provided during the practicals ensures deeper understanding of concepts.

In addition to the curricular activities each teacher tries to interact and form a bond with each student to ensure that the student develops into a well-rounded individual who can contribute to society.
