Department of Life Sciences (B.Sc)

About the
department

Founded in 1992, our Life Sciences Department offers a diverse range of bioscience topics, including biotechnology, genetics, immunology, and environmental science. Graduates can advance in specialized fields or pursue an MBA in pharmaceutical management. Through IRIS, our department hosts workshops, internships, and seminars and practices “The Golden Hour,” where teachers are available to assist with any academic or personal issues. We aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of biosciences, preparing students to be versatile researchers and scholars.

Message from
the HOD

Welcome to our Life Sciences department, where we explore everything from ecosystems to molecular interactions. With a 100% success rate and many students earning top grades, we offer cutting-edge research opportunities and hands-on experience. Our expert faculty in microbiology, botany, and biotechnology guides students, who also present their findings at conferences and engage in community outreach. Supported by a Board of Studies that includes leading scientists and industry experts, our curriculum stays current and emphasizes not only biological knowledge but also research, communication, and critical-thinking skills for overall success.

IRIS

Founded in 2005, IRIS (INSIGHT, RESILIENT, INNOVATE, SUCCESS) is the Life Sciences department's society. It hosts seminars and workshops with top experts to keep students informed about the latest trends and help them advance in their careers.

Academic Excursion:

The department organizes a yearly trip to help students learn about nature. During these trips, students explore various wildlife sanctuaries in India and learn about the importance of protecting the environment.

Student Achievement:

Students have achieved significant recognition in research competitions, winning top prizes and receiving awards like Best Innovative Researcher. They have also published their work in national journals and contributed to research compendiums. Many have excelled in competitive exams such as GATE-XL and IIT-JAM, with some pursuing advanced degrees. Scholarships like Sumitomo and Priyadarshini have been awarded to several students for their exceptional performances.
