department
The department, established in 2003 with BBI and expanded to include BAF and BFM in 2010, offers specialized business and commerce courses. The curriculum is designed to provide students with practical exposure and in-depth knowledge, preparing them for competitive careers and further education. The department boasts a faculty of 4+ in-house professors and 12+ visiting industry specialists. It emphasizes research through the student-run club 'Endeavour' and skill development via 'Concourse', which hosts established speakers. 'Bazaar' exposes students to financial markets, while 'In-Tune In-Touch' keeps everyone updated on departmental activities.This focused approach has enabled students to pursue higher education at top institutions worldwide, including Ivy League schools. The department aims to equip students with the skills to ask the right questions, adapt to dynamic environments, and build successful careers in specialized business fields.
About the
HOD
Ms.Yasmin Singaporewala has 16 years of experience and is the Head of Department and Coordinator for BBI. She is passionate about teaching and guiding new students to greater heights. She has guided many projects and published several papers. She has multiple postgraduate degrees including an MCom in Accountancy, an MBA with specializations in Marketing and Human Resources, and an MCom in Management. Furthermore, her credentials are bolstered by clearing the NET (National Eligibility Test) and obtaining a JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) in Accountancy, Marketing, and Human Resources. This diverse academic and professional background suggests that she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her roles in both administration and teaching.

ConCourse
ConCourse, the guest lecture series and speakers' committee of the BAF, BBI, and BFM departments at Jai Hind College, hosts prominent keynote speakers, including Wall Street giants and Chartered Accountants, covering diverse topics like entrepreneurship, communication, personal growth, finance, motorsport fundamentals, ethical hacking, corporate crisis management, and mental health. This series aims to enhance students' understanding of specific job roles through interactive sessions with industry experts, providing practical knowledge, networking opportunities, and career guidance. Endeavour
Endeavour is a comprehensive editorial club in the department, promoting reading, research, debating, and peer relations. It consists of four main components: ● Blog: A platform (https://endeavour.home.blog) for students to write articles on various topics, from cultural events to economic analysis and personal essays. ● Research Club: Teaches students research basics, hypothesis formulation, and critical thinking skills applicable to their careers. ● Debate Club: Focuses on developing debating skills and soft skills, organizing competitions for students. ● Alumni Series: Facilitates peer networking and learning by connecting current students with college alumni for motivation and insights. These initiatives collectively aim to enhance students' awareness, writing skills, research abilities, critical thinking, and professional networking.
Baazaar
Baazaa₹ is Jai Hind College's dedicated financial magazine, launched in 2019 by the BAF, BFM, and BBI departments. Published monthly, it serves as the Financial Nexus for students, aiming to spread financial awareness and literacy across the college.
