Department of Travel and Tourism Management (BVoc)

About the
department

The Jai Hind College (Autonomous) BVoc-Travel and Tourism Management program offers a vocational degree that combines fundamental general education courses with real-world vocational skills. Its goal is to provide students with the information and abilities they need to find work right away after completing the program. It does this by emphasizing active, hands-on learning via industry projects, case studies, and site visits. The program emphasizes employability and entrepreneurship and is designed to align with career roles in the travel and tourist industry. Students' preparation for industrial employment is further enhanced via internships, ticketing software training, and the development of their research, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. In order to provide students with a solid foundation in tourism management, the program also integrates multidisciplinary and general skills, which are reinforced by a Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) that allows for course selection freedom. Along with short certificate courses and a diploma in adventure tourism, graduates gain competence in practical case studies, tourist ideas, and specialist areas including tour packaging, tourism marketing, and sustainable practices.
