Activities Under the Department

The Department of Chemistry organized a two-day workshop titled “Practicing Science: Scope, Perspectives, and Vision,” featuring talks by leading scientists and practical sessions on lab safety, calibration, and mass spectrometry. This event provided valuable insights into scientific practices and advanced techniques. Additionally, the department hosted workshops on high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), offering hands-on experience with these analytical tools. To celebrate the International Year of the Periodic Table, a series of events included talks, documentaries, and demonstrations, enriching students' knowledge of metal analysis and alloying.

Student Achievement:

Students achieved significant success with notable research publications and awards. M.Sc. Chemistry students published papers in renowned journals, while T.Y. B.Sc. students won first place in XPLORE and participated in Avishkar. Jai Hind College secured the overall winner's trophy at the St. Xavier’s Chemistry Festival, with top positions in various events. Additionally, Kosha Shah was recognized for outstanding contributions to the Chemical Society.
