The Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) at Jai Hind College, introduced in 1999, prepares students for dynamic careers in management. It offers a 3-year degree or a 4-year honours program with 40 courses and a final-year research project.
The program focuses on practical learning through fieldwork, group projects, and presentations, supported by a continuous evaluation system.

Dr. Rakhi Sharma

Dr. Rakhi Sharma is an academician and entrepreneurship educator with over 20 years of experience in higher education. She holds a Ph.D. in Venture Capital Management from the University of Pune, along with an MBA and LLB. A certified Entrepreneurship Educator by the, she is also a certified Mentor by the National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) and has completed advanced training in business incubation and planning. Dr. Sharma has published several research papers focusing on venture capital, startup ecosystems, entrepreneurship education, and the challenges of scaling startups in India. She has served as a resource person for entrepreneurship development programs organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India ,IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur, BITS Pilani, and Carleton University (Canada), among others. Currently serving as the Director at Jai Hind College, Mumbai, she leads entrepreneurial initiatives, including the Entrepreneurship Cell, Skill Hub (RUSA), and Incubator and Accelerator Centre. Dr. Sharma is a mentor at the Atal Incubation Centre, Bhopal, and has mentored startups under initiatives like Startup India, NEN, and the Wadhwani Foundation. She has been recognized with multiple accolades, including the NEN Entrepreneurship Faculty of the Decade (2018), Mahindra Rise Leadership Award, and the Visionary Women Leaders Award. Dr. Sharma continues to drive entrepreneurship development in India through her research, mentorship, and thought leadership.

The Case Study Cohort
The Case Study Cohort is a platform where students prepare and present solutions to business cases with guidance from faculty, mentors, and industry experts. These sessions help students develop a business mindset by focusing on current business challenges. Through hands-on discussions, students learn to solve case studies, think creatively, and improve their Q&A skills, gaining valuable industry exposure.
Entrepreneurship Cell and Skill Hub ( Under RUSA)
Founded in 2007, Jai Hind College's Entrepreneurship Cell promotes entrepreneurship. The Skill Hub, added in 2018, focuses on upskilling through workshops and competitions. The cell hosts the annual Entrepreneurship Summit, which went global in 2020. It works towards its objective of providing a platform for startups across the country as well as to foster entrepreneurship among students.
Incubator & Accelerator Centre
The Jai Hind College Incubator & Accelerator Centre, established in 2020, supports young entrepreneurs with mentoring, co-working space, and technical and financial help. It currently mentors over 20 startups and has partnered with Atal Incubation Centre. Key events include the Start-Up Exposition on February 11, 2023, featuring 15 startups, and a Pre-Incubation Program with guest sessions on various business topics.
Enactus Jai Hind College
Enactus Jai Hind College, part of the global Enactus network since 2015, focuses on social and environmental entrepreneurship. Notable projects include Project Ekta (2021-2022), which addresses textile waste by upcycling discarded clothes into products like tote bags and laptop sleeves. Tech-Siksha provides education to over 100 underprivileged children and strives to improve their quality of life.
Talaash
Talaash, a celebrated management festival at Jai Hind College, recently marked its 24th year Talaash, organized by Jai Hind College’s BMS department, is a major management festival in Mumbai. It aims to enhance students' creativity, strategic thinking, and leadership skills while attracting participants from various colleges. Over 25 years, it has evolved from a simple treasure hunt into a celebrated event showcasing student talents featuring competitions, workshops, and activities in finance, marketing, and entrepreneurship.
Family Managed Business Hub
The Family Managed Business Hub (FMB Hub) focuses on supporting family-owned businesses by providing tailored resources and networking opportunities. It offers education and training through workshops and seminars, helps with succession planning for smooth generational transitions, promotes sustainability, and aids in preserving the unique culture and values of these businesses.
Student Achievements
The department prioritizes and focuses on experiential learning and innovation leading to several commendable achievements. Hormuz Hansotia, Tanya Nair and Aakash Jethani have represented Jai Hind College and India at the HSBC/HKU APAC Business case programme- the world’s largest undergraduate case competition and have secured the prestigious title of Division winner. Yana Agarwal from SYBMS has been an avid and passionate waterpolo player with 8 years of experience and has represented India as the captain of the Indian team at the World Aquatics u-20 women’s water polo championships. The students of BMS Programme have secured Internships and placements at prestigious organizations such as Morgan Stanley, HDFC Life, Calvin Klien, Tommy Hilfiger, IRM and Zouk, with stipends ranging from ₹3,500 to ₹33,000.
