The Student Council is the chief student body of Jai Hind College. It is the most diversified body, comprising individual representatives from all the courses across all the years. The council acknowledges various problems faced by students in the college and comes up with meaningful solutions for the same.

The motto of Student Council is “in order to succeed, we must first believe that we can”

The council acts as a bridge between management and students and implements ideas for the betterment of the college as a whole by conducting Annual General Meeting for students and staff members. Regular monthly meetings will be conducted with the principal to discuss various student issues.
The integral binding and coordinating council between all cells and societies within the college ensures smooth functioning of various events held in college. It has been a helping hand to the college by managing admission procedure for F.Y, S.Y, and T.Y aided courses.

Actives for the Academic Year:
The Student Council conducts various activities for the benefit of the students, one such initiative is the ‘poster campaign’, on a pressing student issue. This yearly campaign is divided into 2 semesters 1 issue per semester. In the 1st semester we took the issue of attendance, encouraging students to attend lectures includes different posters for each month, highlighting various aspects of gaining knowledge through fruitful lectures. Its prime aim is to help students gain insight about the importance of various student problems.
The student council had organized ‘Teacher’s Day’ celebration this year.
We would be celebrating Republic Day and organizing Achiever’s Nite as well.

The Student council acknowledges issues faced by students in college and comes up with meaningful solutions to the same. It acts as a bridge between the management and students and implements ideas for the betterment of the college as a whole by conducting Annual General Meeting for students and staff members.

The integral binding and coordinating council between all cells and societies within the college ensuring smooth functioning of the various events held in college. It has been responsible for managing the admission process for FY, SY and TY aided courses.

The Council also conducts activities for the benefit of the students, one such initiative was the voter’s id campaign, with over 420 registrations. This year, we plan to organize an education fair, inviting corporate from various fields to help students decide their future career plans. We would be organizing the Achiever’s Nite too. Apart from the regular academics, the students at Jai Hind College are constantly engaged in extra-curricular activities throughout the year. Special attention is given to the fact that learning requires a fine coordination between education and overall growth of the student. Thus, we have several committees and groups formed and run by the students, under the appropriate guidance of their professors.

There’s the Literary and Debating Society (LDS) for the orators and intellects, the Gymkhana for sports enthusiasts, Social and Dramatic Union (SDU) for the artists and performers and the Hobby Centre for fun lovers. The two main annual events of Jai Hind College Shoutt and the Personality Contest are organised by SDU and Hobby Centre respectively.

There are other committees like Gujarati Sahitya Mandal (GSM) and Hindi Parishad (HP) that organise intra-college events like Friendship Day and Dhoom. There are also some specific interest groups like English Association, Economics Association, Political Science Forum, etc.

To have a healthy competition with students of similar interests from other colleges, students of some streams organise their own festivals like Detour (BMM), Talaash (BMS), Entourage (BBI), Genaces (Biotechnology) and Cyberstrike (Computer Science). These festivals are a great talent exploring and thoughts sharing experience as students from across the city come and participate in them.

Not to forget the fact that all of these festivals and events are judged by celebrities and industry experts, some of whom are a product of Jai Hind College itself!

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OUR JC AND DEGREE TOPPERS
Manisha Hatte, a student of Jai Hind College, was elated when she found out she had topped Economics by scoring 94%. "I studied for three to four hours every day and put in my best effort," said Hatte. To break the routine, she took walks and listened to music. “My teachers really helped by guiding me through the difficulties and I did not take tuitions. Hatte was also named the topper in this subject amidst all the girls who appeared for the exam this year in Mumbai division.

Students said that College Teachers were great help to them and they did not take tuitions. Principal Dr Ashok Wadia said, "We at Jai Hind are Proud of Our Students for bringing this glory to us and it's a feather in Jai Hind's Cap. I am equally proud of our teachers for their dedication to teaching profession. Our Students Statements are the proof of Quality Teaching in Jai Hind College and why Classroom learning is Important to our Students rather than relying on tuitions."
