Jai Hind College’s quest for excellence in the field of education since its inception in 1948 and it is at the forefront of modernizing and improvising education. Started as an Arts and Science college, Jai hind College now boasts of a wide variety of diversified courses ranging from Commerce, Management Studies, Information Technology, Biotechnology, Banking & Insurance, Accounting & Finance, Financial Markets, Mass Media, Software Development and Travel & Tourism among others.

Being one of the pioneers in the field of education, Jai hind College was granted the prestigious status of being an Autonomous College by the University Grants Commission in the year 2018. Another feather in its cap was the recognition Jai Hind received from the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) as “College of Excellence”. The funding received from this recognition under the RUSA Scheme will be channeled towards development of Entrepreneurship skills, and further the betterment of the college infrastructure, wellness of students and inculcation and promotion of a research oriented culture. Recently, Jai Hind College became one amongst the rare colleges in the country to be a part of the prestigious US-based “College Board”. Affiliation to the board, which conducts entrance tests like SAT, will give the college the appropriate platform to utilize some of the best global practices and resources.

Jai Hind College’s endeavour to act as a catalyst in the process of achieving education excellence and giving students an enriching academic experience is further exemplified as we proudly announce a collaborative venture with TATA Consultancy Services (TCS).

The memorandum of understanding (MOU) agreement was signed by Dr. Ashok Wadia, Principal, JaiHind College and Ranjan Bandyopadhyay, Vice President, TCS HR on the 3rd of March, 2020.

This partnership between TCS & Jai Hind College starting from the academic year 2020-2021, is tailored to let our students stay ahead on the learning curve. We will be delighted to launch M.Sc( Big Data Analytics) and B.COM (BPS) which have been designed by TCS in partnership along with ISI Kolkata (specifically for the M.Sc] and include significant component of industry relevant and application oriented learning apart from learning core concepts.

NASSCOM has repeatedly emphasized the importance of developing Data Sciences curriculum and in this view; Jai Hind College is introducing this course which will be supported by RUSA. The inception of this course brings about tremendous opportunities in terms of internships & placements, polishing the ability of our students to apply this knowledge in the real world & pave their way as change makers. This collaborative effort between Jai Hind College and TCS will aim to bridge the much visible gap between the current education system and the requirement of skill based employment in the corporate sector.

× IMPORTANT NOTICE

Dear Students, Parents, Teachers and Non-teaching staff,
Considering the seriousness of the situation caused by the spread of Corona virus, certain measures need to be implemented to try and bring it under control. The well-being of all our stakeholders is our foremost priority and hence of utmost importance to us.

University of Mumbai, UGC/MHRD and Maharashtra Government authorities have released several circulars on instructions to be followed in this situation. One of this being to keep all Colleges and educational institutions closed till the 31st of March, 2020.

In view of the above, our Jai Hind College shall remain closed till the 31st of March, 2020 or as per further instructions received time to time from the concerned authorities.

Students and Parents need not worry themselves. I urge the students to remain focused and concentrate on their studies. Should you have any difficulties, try and get them solved from your respective teachers as was suggested in my earlier message to you. The revised schedule of Examination will be put up only after receiving instructions from the University. Rest assured that you shall be notified well in advance.

Teaching and non-teaching faculty are requested to work from home. Teachers should follow the various suggestions by UGC/University of Mumbai and by the Principal in his mail.

My humble request to all of you is to take all necessary precautions as well as support Government initiatives in fighting this crisis. The well- being of you and your family is very important to our Jai Hind family. Stay at home, stay healthy. Take care.
